Did you know that Australia recognises New Zealand Nursing Registrations?
The Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 has provisions for reciprocal registration between New Zealand and Australia. If you have a current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand or Midwifery Council, you are eligible for mutual recognition in Australia. You'll need to login or create an account and start your registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) online portal.
That means that Registered New Zealand Nurses can study our 52852WA Graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Nursing and Injectables.

All theory for our courses is taught online with only the practical components delivered in Australia in convenient, travel friendly, blocks:
- Four (4) day block for injectables practical training
- 10-day (or two (2) week) block for dermal practical training

Some qualifying New Zealand citizens may also be eligible for Australia’s Government assistance through their VET Student Loan scheme if they have an Australian residential address and intend to be in Australia for the majority of the course.
In addition to the above, to be eligible for VSL, a student must meet the following requirements:
- be studying an approved course.
- be studying with an approved course provider.
- apply to the government using the approved form (eCAF) and include all relevant information whilst physically in Australia.
- confirm their engagement and continued progression to access the loan throughout the course, when required to do so by the department.
- has a HELP balance that is more than $0 (that is, has not used all their HELP loan limit)
- meet the citizenship and residency requirements by being a qualifying New Zealand citizen.
Qualifying New Zealand students are New Zealand citizens that hold a Special Category visa and:
- has usually been resident in Australia for at least 10 years, and
- was a dependent child aged under 18 years of age when they first were usually resident in Australia and
- has been in Australia for periods totalling 8 years during the previous 10 years and
- has been in Australian for periods totalling 18 months during the previous two years.

Cosmetic Nursing and Dermal Therapy are a growing industry in New Zealand with franchise business such as Laser Clinics New Zealand and Clear Skin Clinics being large employers.
