Dr Jayson Oates, FRACS
Dr Jayson Oates FRACS is the Medical Director of the Academy Facial Plastics & Laser Specialist. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1990 and went on to train in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons FRACS) finishing in 1997. Interested in facial plastic surgery he joined The Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in 1995 and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in 1997. In 1998 and 1999 he continued his training by gaining further training and experience in facial plastic surgery in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. In 2005 Dr Oates was elected President of the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery holding this position for six years. In his current practice, Dr Oates' offers rhinoplasty, facelift, necklift, blepharoplasty, facial implants, otoplasty, liposuction and fully-ablative laser resurfacing. Keenly sought after by the media Dr Oates has appeared on or been quoted by Channel 7, 9 and 10 news, the West Australian and various community newspapers, Cosmetic Surgery Magazine and various radio stations.

Dr Sharron Phillipson
Dr Sharron Phillipson is a General Practitioner with a special interest in non-surgical cosmetic medicine since the early 1990's. A graduate of University of Newcastle, she attained the FRACGP in 1993 and commenced the Elizabeth Medical centre in North Sydney which expanded to include The Elizabeth Laser and Cosmetic Medicine Centre in 1997. She founded the North Sydney Medical Practice and Skin Cancer Clinic in 2004 and the North Sydney Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Medicine Centre in 2013. The surgeries are recognised by the Sydney Institute General Practice Education and Training and regularly takes trainee general practitioners. Dr Phillipson attained the Diploma of Practical Dermatology (University of Wales) in 1998. She is a member of the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons and completed the American Board of Laser Surgery by examination in 2000. Dr Phillipson is the founding president of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Medicine and the Chief Censor of Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine. She is the medical convenor of the annual Laser and Cosmetic Conference since 2000. She has been the chairman of the Laser Sub Committee of the Cosmetic Surgery Credentialling Council in New South Wales representing The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is a hearing member for the New South Wales Medical Board, is medical consultant to a variety of general public groups and speaks at medical and lay meetings on cosmetic procedures and is a medical adviser for Mothers Incorporated.

Dr John Flynn, FRACS
Dr Flynn has practised on the Gold Coast for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and has a wide experience in Cosmetic Surgery including Facial Lifts, Breast Augmentation, Liposculpture and Laser Surgery. Dr Flynn also has a keen interest in the treatment of Skin Cancer and Varicose Veins. Dr Flynn has studied and trained overseas and is Board certified by the American Board of Laser Surgery and has a Diploma of Practical Dermatology from the University of Wales (UK). Dr Flynn is in constant demand for teaching and speaking engagements at conferences in Australia and internationally. He also consults for product companies and helps to formulate protocols for the avoidance of and management of complications. Tracy Haywood, RN
Tracy Haywood joined Academy Facial Plastics in 2006 as Practice Manager. She worked in the medical industry for 30 years including roles as a Registered Nurse and Practice Manager of GP, orthodontic and cosmetic surgery practices. Tracy also has experience in corporate recruitment and high level administration roles. Having completed a Diploma in Business (Human Resources), Tracy is now a member of the Australian Association of Practice Managers, Australian Institute of Management and Australian Human Resources Institute. Tracy’s current role at Academy Facial Plastics & Academy Day Hospital is all encompassing – managing the human resources, marketing, finance, administration, maintaining ISO 9001 accreditation and the stringent annual licensing and auditing processes for licensed day hospitals. To add another level to her experience, Tracy completed training as a Cosmetic Nurse Injector in 2013 and have been actively injecting since.

Terri Vinson
With over 20 years of formulating experience, Terri Vinson is a Cosmetic Chemist regarded as one of the most highly qualified professionals in the area of cosmetic science. Terri holds a Bachelor of Science from Monash University (Immunology and Microbiology), and in addition to this has obtained a Postgraduate Diploma of Education in Biology and Senior Science. She maintains professional memberships with the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists and sits on the Vouge Cosmetic Advisory Board. Terri is currently Managing Director and Formulator of the leading Australian cosmeceutical brand, Synergie Skin® and Synergie Minerals®. Terri is considered an expert in the field of cosmeceuticals and is a regular writer for industry publications including Cosmetic Surgery and Beauty Magazine, Professional Beauty Magazine and is on the Cosmetic Advisory Board for Vouge Australia.

Dr Kiran Shahid
Dr Shahid graduate from medicine in Karachi in 1995. She emigrated to Australia and completed her Australian Medical Council Examinations in 1991 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2001. Kiran has extensive experience as a GP and in cosmetic medicine. She has a significant interest in dermatology and hence, completed the Australian Dermatology Diploma in 2012. This qualification has allowed Kiran to expand her scope of practice to a range of cosmetic lasers and skin cancer medicine. Kiran has used her expertise in dermatology and cosmetic medicine to recently established a world-class cosmetic medical centre in Karachi, Pakistan – the first of kind in the region.

Elisha Rounsevell, DT
Elisha’s early career in the industry commenced with the Academy Facial Plastics and Laser Specialists (AFPLS). As a Dermal Therapist Elisha gained extensive experience from treating different skin types and conditions and had the opportunity to assist in theatre during surgical procedures. While practising there, Elisha completed her Advanced Diploma with AACDS and went on to provide them with their practical training, assessment and some lecture material. After six busy and enjoyable years with the Academy Facial Plastics and Laser Specialists (AFPLS) and by now studying a BSc in Human Biology and Business Management, Elisha’s entrepreneurial streak emerged and after many hours of research and market analysis, she decided to start her own cosmetic practice, CosMedical Skin Solutions. Recognising the synergy with her own business vision, Elisha’s fledgling cosmetic practice started off in the rooms of a Specialist Breast Surgeon who also provided cosmetic injectables. She now has her own premises with 3 treatment rooms and 2 Dermal Therapists and the very same Surgeon now contracts for her. “I have been running my own successful business, CosMedical Skin Solutions in Joondalup, for 7 years now, in my personal passion for providing effective and proven treatments with excellent customer service”. These days Elisha remains focused on managing and developing her team and Practice for continued growth and improvement

Sue Graham, RN
Sue Graham is the Senior Cosmetic Nurse Specialist and heads the aesthetic department at Cosmedic and Skin Clinic in QLD. She has successfully trained and led a number of medical aesthetic teams including many Dermal Therapists. Sue is a Registered Nurse and holds a Diploma of Beauty Therapy. A passionate and dedicated person Sue has accumulated many years of experience and knowledge, she receives regular requests and invitations from professional bodies regarding industry advice and training. As a highly skilled Aesthetic Nurse Injector, Licenced Laser Operator and Cosmetic Nurse, Sue has exceptional skills to enable her to provide patients with an extensive range of Non Surgical Cosmetic enhancement procedures.
