This module forms the foundation for correct skin analysis and selection of dermal therapy procedures within a cosmetic medical context. Lectures focus on issues that affect the histological and visual qualities of the skin covering healthy skin physiology, the presentation and pathophysiology of dermatologic disorders, repair abilities and wound care. On completion of this module, students should be able to identify a range of dermatologic conditions and refer as appropriate to ensure they work within their scope of practice.

Duration - 8 week module with a study commitment of 3 hours per week.

MODULE 2

PRINCIPLES OF INTEGRATED HEALTH AND DERMATOLOGY

This module forms the foundation for understanding the impact of the gut microbiome health, nutritional and lifestyle factors which affect skin health. Lectures focus on conception of the microbiome and its important functions, understanding nutritional, hormonal and digestive health and detoxification. On completion of this module, the student will be able to identify nutritional and lifestyle factors that affect the skin through poor gut microbiome health and be able to implement strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Duration - 8 week module with a study commitment of 3 hours per week.
